Final/INFORMATION Notice Tour de Vin 2004
 

Well,

Less than a week to go for Tour de Vin 2004. It looks like the weather is going to be perfect and we are going to have another great turnout (over 40 Cobras so far). Now there have been a number of questions, so let me try to provide some answers:

IS THERE A GROUP MEETING TO GO TO THE START OR WHERE ARE WE LEAVING FROM?

> A number of folks will be meeting a Athens Burgers in Dublin to drive up to Yountville (Domaine Chandon). The Athens group will be leaving promptly at 8:15 and arriving at Domaine Chandon at 9:15. (If you are planning on breakfast at Athens you will probably want to arrive there by 7:30.)

WHAT TIME WILL WE BE EATING?

> The Picnic will start at approx. 2:30 and we have the location until 6:00. You may want to bring something (very light) to munch on during the tour or there is a deli at one of the stops where you can also pick something up if you can't make it till lunch (you do want to make sure to save room for the BBQ)

ARE THERE GAS STOPS?

>There are gas stations in the area however, we do not have any stops planned due to the timing of the event. It is advised that you top off in Napa or Yountville BEFORE ARRIVING AT DOMAINE CHANDON. We will be driving approx. 60+ miles total (with much of this country road and some hills)


Reminder- Though 2 wineries have offered complementary tasting, One does have a $5 tasting fee which may be applied to purchase. Also there may be a charge for samping select wines at any of the wineries..

Bottle water
Light jacket/sweatshirt (for the ride up and back)
Hat
Sunglasses
Snack
Chapstick

Just a quick update...............

We have just tied last years mark of 47 Cobras for the Tour de Vin. Mr.P (Larry) believes that we will top 50..........OH MY!!!!!:eek: :eek:

With close to 50 cars on this years tour it is VERY IMPORTANT that we leave on time so that everyone has enough time at each stop. Check in is at 9:30 and we WILL LEAVE at 10:00 SHARP. So you must be gassed up,checked in and ready to go AT 10:00. The first leg is a 40-45min run with no nature stops :o Please see the web site for the map links to Athens and Domaine Chandon.
