New DMV Rumor
They're going to outsource the SB-100 assignment system to TicketMaster.Com, and make the numbers transferrable as well. It'll be a huge improvement. Not only will you be able to get up at 1:00 AM sharp on Jan2, 2006 and use your computer to try to get one of the numbers, but you can go down to the DMV at 5AM that very same day and buy one from a scalper!
Joking aside, the speed at which the numbers disappear the morning of Jan 2 will be directly proportional to how many lines and operators are servicing the calls. The operators had zero down-time this year, so it's the same, it'll take the same amount of time. Considering it's the DMV and they don't care how long it takes, I say it'll take under 9 hours, because that's what I believe it took in 2005. 5 minutes before the end if the first 8-hr shift, I got #455...so that's about a number a minute, right? They might get heavily lobbied this year by all the angry folks...so maybe they'll do something like only process 2 a day, or have everyone submit the forms by a certain date, then have Arnold draw them out of a manly-sized hat. Christ, what a system. I think I'll just start manufacturing cast-in-place Block ID kits. A little RTV mould, some release, some JB weld... You think they'd buy 1965 numbers on a new mod motor? LOL Well, ok, it'd work on the pushrod engines... B |
Byron,
You would be in serious trouble if you tried that. I have the process trademarked and ready to go into kit production shortly. I will be operating from a undisclosed location off shore. TURK |
