West Bay/Beach Run - 9/10/05
The First Annual End of Summer Run is being planned for Saturday September 10, 2005. Hold - the - Date! Please read the below and let us know if you think you might be able to make it. This will be a good tune up for you and your co-pilot prior to Snakes to the Lake.
The plan would be to meet at Athens that morning, leaving around 7:15-7:30. Head over the SM Bridge, west on 92, left on Skyline and head south to the intersection of Highway 84 (about an hour from Athens). There we would stop for Breakfast @ Alice's Restaurant. There is plenty of parking out front with indoor and outdoor dining. The west Bay contingent would meet at 280 / 92 at 8 AMą. From there we will head to the Coast (fun twisties) where the details must still be worked out. We will end up stopping for lunch in one of the beach communities in the Santa Cruz area. After lunch, we expect the group to break up and either go shopping or head home, up Highway One to Half Moon Bay, over Highway 17 to San Jose and points north and east or continue south toward Monterey. You pick'em. Being a summer Saturday, we are trying to take the less traveled roads as, depending on weather, it could be a tad congested. Anyway, we just wanted to get the date on your calendar. Sounds like fun. I'm in for a definate maybe. Anywhere for breakfast other than Athens sounds great.
What's the chances of getting a breakfast seat at Alice's in a reasonable amount of time? |
We are hoping that at 8-8:30 the selection of seats should be fine. We have focused on a Saturday rather than Sunday so we don't conflict with the motorcycles. Have you been there at this time on a Saturday?
