C5AE-H block 1965??
My block number is C5AE-H. In a book I have it lists this number as follows.
65-66 to 12-9-65 side-oiler. So, when I went to the BAR here in CA. I told him I wanted to register this by engine year as 1965. He crawled under the car and verified it was a C5AE-H block. He then went to some books he has that only showed the C5AE but without the -H option. He did list some other options such as -J or -B, I think, but not the -H. So, he calls his boss who tells him to check the date code on the front of the block. We looked all over, both sides, on the front but only found the 352 stamping. He calls his boss again and gets told it has to e registered as a 66. This will not do here in CA as you all know. Any ideas of how I can get past this. Is my block a 65?? Where is this date code. Of course the BAR guy said to wait for SB100. I will be trying for one come January but we all know this is going to be tough. Thanks... Mike |
Can you go to a different bar? C5 means 65 doesn't it? Not C6=66???

TP, Yes I am going to try another BAR. There are a few more not far away. I want to gather more amo for my next visit. Here's hoping.
ST, thanks for the link. It has the same info as my book. The guy at the BAR said the 65 engines went into 66 cars so that is why I have to regist. it as a 66. That ain't gonna happen!!! Mike |
Good luck!
