Rim Repair

Ok, it's not a pretty story so I won't go into it.

But.....I took about a 6" X 1" piece of my rim off over the weekend. It is a portion of the outer lip of the rim. Can anyone recomend a repair shop that could fix this??

Thanks for the help...

Mike

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Sounds like a pretty big chunk. Try Wheels America, 33446 Western Ave., Union City 94587 510 441 2199
They do their work at night - if they can do it, your rim will be done in the morning.

They do not have the facility to remove the rim from the car - you must bring it in "loose". They will rebalance when done. You reinstall on your car.

Oh come on Mike. You can't let it go. Fess up, or you can just repent your sins the next time you come to breakfast.

Mike,
Try Team III in San Leandro. He does some of the Mfg. for Len Park (Trigo) http://team3wheels.com/

He can be quirky but seems to do good work and have fair prices......................

good luck,
mike

Well, I checked out Wheels America today. Bummer, but they can't fix it. So, I may have a line on getting a NEW TRIGO rear rim for $200 plus shipping. I guess some of my connections may pay off.

I'll fess up at my next breakfast. Need a new rim first. Maybe I'll get it next week and be there next Sat?? I hope!

Thanks guy's for the info.

Send it back to Lynn for repair. It only needs a new rim the center can be re used. I'd secure a new one (used one?) off e-bay or here in the club before I sent it off, it may take awhile to get back. Lynn also sells "blems" which are a little less. Get one of those and when you get your new wheel back use the "blem" as a spare. PSE will do also re-rim a wheel for you.
