UNBELEAVABLE!!!!. The old days at fremont drag strip they would let anyone and everything race as long as it met the criteria for the time the car could run. Sorry Guys!

Yeah, this is a bummer, but after reading the rules I'm not too surprised. But it sounds like the technical idjit made up his own rules on the spot. He just took one look at you bad boys, heard all those nasty sounds and soiled his pants. I was waiting for them to say you all needed door handles. They were right about one thing though, our cars are not convertibles. They are roadsters. We don't need no stinkin' windows.

Say, I hear that there are places that do 1/8 mile drags. Perhaps their rules are a little less anal since the speeds are so much less. Do they do this anywhere near here? Is this a business opportunity? Racer Rich

Here's a list of 1/4 and 1/8 mile tracks: http://www.staginglight.com/links/trackfinder.html#CA

Sonoma and Sacramento are the closest. After that, it's all the way to Redding or Bakersfield.

And you wonder why kids street race.....It seems to me that we need to build a 1/4 mile track here in the bay area, in the interest of public safety! :D

Sorry to hear you guys had to deal with that crap. I ran my Mustang 5.0 at both Sears and Sac. That was over 10 years ago, but back then the Sac guys seemed very easy going.

Down here in the southern half we have several places to run 1/8th mile. Some more strict than others. I passed tech for 7.51-8.99 class but ran under it several times without an issue at Qualcomm with the race legal group. Race Legal was setup to get kids off the streets. www.racelegal.com and they are somewhat accomodating tech wise. Other places here booted us the first time we went below 7.50.
