I'm not sure but I suspect for a few reasons:

1) Who cares? You're DRIVING your dream.
2) Helluva lot less traffic at 7:30AM when going to these things.
3) And because there's less traffic, you can "git on it" to um.... blow out the carbon... yeah, that's it.
4) Piss off the neigbors.... just kidding. Acutally quite the opposite. But it's hard to keep these things quiet. The weird thing is, nearly all of the senior/retired people in my neighborhood are up EARLIER than me on any given day so it doesn't really matter to them it seems. On the otherhand, one neighbor just had a baby and 4 other new homeowners are all young so I don't know how it's affecting them. So far, no hate mail or "we need to talk" sessions yet...

Not sure about everyone else, but for me it works good. With four kids and a million things to do all the time it doesn't mess up the whole day. We also get together on Tuesdays and Thursday nights at Big Dogs when we can talk people into driving their cars. Imagine having to do that:LOL: .

Scott:
Hmmm, Thursdays feasible sometimes but where the heck is "Big Dogs" ?

Scott: Some of these dudes are just sick puppies. If you think the Baji's guys are bad, try Athens in Dublin. By the time we get going in Mt. View (7:30-7:45 AM), they're finished eating and are outside discussing who has the most horsepower and other BS. :D: Rich

Corner of Foxworthy and Cherry in SJ. It is right on the border of Willow Glen. I am not sure how many people show up this time of the year, but I am sure some still do. Bill B. might know better.

It's true. In order to get a "good seat" you need to be at Athens no later than 6:45am.... YYYYAAAWWWWWNNNN, I'm sleepy!

BTW, funny story. So, as you can imagine, I have to leave my house pretty early to keep up with the guys at Athens. So, I try and quickly start the cobra, and lurch down the road until I am far enough away to let it idle to a proper operating tempurature.
Othe ther day my neighbor said she had to laugh because she though it was going to rain after hearing the "thunder" oustside. She was quickly reminded that it was Saturady morning and there was no thunder...... just her annoying nieghbor (me) starting up his cobra...:D Thankfully she got a kick out of it....but for how long will she think it's funnny!?

Sorry I flaked again. I had to go dirt bike riding, or should I say snow bike riding. We got to Pi Pi valley up above Jackson and there was more then a foot of snow in some spots. Tried to ride but there was to much ice:( .

Greg,

Here is the company that I supplied the jackstands that Santa brought me for Christmas :3DSMILE:

Now I just need to find a small jack that I can carry in the trunk. Anyone have recommendations for a bottle or scissor jack that I can carry on roadtrips?

Thanks daryl, Those are perfect for our cars! A must have along with a small jack. Any ideas on a good jack?

Thanks again,
Greg

I got a small bottle jack from OSH ( Craftsman) that I use at home and carry on long trips. I think it cost me $15. I also have the aluminum race Craftsman floor jack that was cheap. Goes up to the frame in one or two pumps.

Hey Scott,
Will the bottle jacks fit under our frames?

Kragen has a good jack for the garage...alluminum...low profile..

It is similar to a jack they sell at Summit Racing for $179!

I can attest to the strength and convenience of Rob's jack stands. I keep a pair in my trunk (along with a small $15 bottle jack from Pep Boys). One of these days I'm going to get ambitious and polish them to a show shine. They really are innovative and cool.

3rd Saturday of the month. Is anyone going to brave the cold in the car's, or atleast go to breakfast by some other means of transportation.
Scott
