Hillsborough 2007 Concours Sunday May 6th
As a fun diversion, you might enjoy the 51st annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance. Here is the link (disregard the heading on the webpage that says 2006, it IS 2007).
http://www.hillsboroughconcours.org:...trants2007.htm They will feature muscle cars, Corvettes, T-Birds, Mustangs, Rolls', XKE, Benz, Pierce Arrows, Lambos, Ferrari, vintage race cars, etc., etc., about 180 cars on the grass will a special exhibit of cars we all would enjoy - no Cobras, sorry. I believe some Nor-Cal SAAC cars will be on display. Check out their website - there is also a kids' carnival if you have little ones. I have gone to this for many years and with the cars this year, it should be one of the best! It is also a bargain compared to other shows. Tom |
Just to give you another taste of this wonderful event in case you did not check out the link, expected to attend are:
2 - 300 SL gullwings, 1 - Talbot Lgo, Several 60-70's Porsches, Jags, MG, TR, Maserati; 9- 50's XK 120s, 140s and 150; 6 E-types; a bunch of Vintage Race Cars; 14 muscle cars including 2 GT 500's and 1 GT 350; 12 Ferraris 82 or older including numerous 250's and 365's; an Avanti and DeLorean; 2 Bricklins, 11 vettes prior to 1982; 4 T-birds, a 66 mustang, 2 other GT 350s and a Boss 429; and more recent Super Cars including a Carrera GT, Muira S plus 3 other Lambos and 3 Ferraris. The feature car is the Pierce Arrow - and along with these will be numerous Rolls Royces and other classic Art Deco type cars. Bay Area Roadsters will also be there and the Shelby Club also has this on their website. The weather should be great on Sunday and it is an easy drive from most anywhere in the Bay Area.:) |
Tom,
I was thinking of taking a ride up there Sunday after my daughters game, but it looks like you have to park away from the event and take a shuttle over. If I could park my car close somewhere I would like to go. Scott |
Scott - If you get there on the early side, they have a parking lot for which you pay - I think it is $10 and is immediately connected to the show. Coming from I-280, take Chateau or Ralston down toward the schools and just past the first set of brown buildings, you can turn left into the entrance for paid parking. I'm guess'n there are signs. Compared to a lot of established shows, the cost of admission is cheap, so a few bucks for parking isn't bad. It is a bit of a hassle to take the bus, but not bad. There is street parking starting a few blocks away, but anything close is usually taken between about 11:15 and 1:15 as many folks come for lunch at the kids' carnival.
Hope you can make it - I'll be there until 1-2 PM. Tom |
