Stupid DMV question

Here I am again with a stupid DMV question for all of you seasoned veterans..

I have my reciepts for Kit, engine, Tranny, rear-end, and tires. Do i need to make copies of them? Does the DMV keep them? Do they want to see the originals? Ok.. so that was 3 questions. I plan to get this sucker on the road this month.. ;)

They make copies

Take your originals, DMV will make copies. You'll need the originals when you get to CHP!

CHP are the ones you need to convince that the parts are all 'legit', DMV is looking for dollar amounts.

I feel you brother, I just went thru this a month ago.

I can't remember, do you have a SB100 number already?

SB100 makes it a cakewalk.

I got my pink slip in the mail this week from DMV!:D

Good luck

No SB-100.. I was out of town that day.. Why does the CHP need the reciepts??

Interesting... so do I take all of my summit racing and ace hardware slips too?? Or just the major parts..

pgermond 05-09-2007 05:06 PM

As Jdog said, CHP is looking for stolen parts - so the major components, i.e. kit, motor, transmission, wheels/tires, etc. It's spelled out clearly what is required on the Statement of Construction form from DMV. Just follow the process, don't get creative, and you shouldn't have any problems.

God I love this state.. hhahah.. I can't find the receipt for my wheels.. I wonder if that will give me grieif or not..
