Driving weather...

Hi guys,

It's been a while, but the forecast for Saturday is 68 and sunny and coincidentally I'm on schedule to have my car back together and drivable by Friday evening. :)

Is anyone else up for getting out on the road for a few hours on Saturday?

scootter 02-11-2008 05:04 PM

Yes. I start my vacation Friday night. I need to get my car out this week. We should take a run up to the Rock House for breakfast Saturday! Then we could come back on one of the mountain roads, but not Mines road. That takes forever!!!!!!!!!!!
I also get my engine parts back for my dirt bike.:3DSMILE: So I can put that together and get it out next week also.

I'd love to join you guys, but my car is still "wintering" in Reno. No word yet, but I'm hoping to get my car back by the end of the month at the latest.

The weather was so nice this past weekend, it was killing me. Oh well, I'm getting some projects around the house done. :)

badrich 02-11-2008 07:27 PM

Scott: This Saturday is the third Saturday of the month. Which means: Baji's! You may drive anywhere else afterward. That is all. Rich

vanoochka 02-11-2008 07:34 PM

Scott,

Sounds good to me. Let me know when and where you want to meet.

Doug, your car has been in Reno for a while. What are they doing to it?

Got the Bug 02-11-2008 09:34 PM

Chuck,

They ended up pulling the transmission to fix an oil leak. I originally thought the leak was coming from the rear seal, but it ended up being a problem with the oil galley plugs. The leak contaminated the clutch, so they're going to replace that as well.

Hey, what about back at Alices? Although it could be brisk in the AM, not nearly as bad as the last time (see beer bottle label.) Just installed my 'faux' knock-offs; finally have life at the center of those wheels. They're not exactly replica's though but I wanted them so there! :D

scootter 02-12-2008 05:36 PM

Chuck,
We can meet at the Starbucks at the corner of Santa Teresa and Blossom Hill ( by Luckys and Armadillo Willeys, there are 3 Starbucks in that same corner) at 6:30am. It takes about 50 minutes to get there. Sorry Rich and Herman.%/ I haven't seen the guys from the Rock House in months. Its time to drive the cars a bit.

Enjoy!
I have to go look at vanities and toilets tomorrow morning. Had a nice water leak in my downstairs bathroom. So it's remodel time. Also I will not be going to WSCB. After I paid my $330.00 I found out I have to be in Vegas the same time. I called the clown that runs this thing to see if I could let someone else go. No way! didn't you read the disclaimer. This guy is a tool. So Break $330 worth of sh!t for me.

Monster 02-19-2008 02:54 PM

Joe,

Sorry to hear your having problems getting a refund from WSCB. I know that when I've scheduled events that we sometimes have to pre-pay which can make refunds a challenge. It is suprising that since the event is sold out there wasn't a waiting list and that your registration couldn't be transfered. With WSCB selling out so fast I'm sure there are folks that missed the sign-up and want to go.

good luck,
Mike

LETSRCE 02-19-2008 03:27 PM

You would think. There is a ton of people that would take my place. I didn't ask for a refund just put some else name on the reservation. This CLOWN kept going back to the website disclaimer, maybe this is away for him to make more money? Bottom line is I can't go and I can't let anyone go.
I don't know what this guy does for a real job but I'm sure dealing with people isn't it.

Randy Rosenberg 02-19-2008 03:46 PM

Hey Joe, I'm sure you can list your reservation as being available on Club Cobra (or check with Monster about getting access to the BACC email list) and just tell the person who takes your reserveration to say, "Hi, I'm Joe Cloutier." when he arrives at the WSCB. How hard can this be? It's not like the TSA is going to be there and are going to ask to see his passport or anything? It's a ph*cking car show for heaven's sake!

Good luck,
Randy...

P.S. I suggest you start your own thread on this subject.

LETSRCE 02-19-2008 05:46 PM

You would think? I would just hate for someone to schlep up there only to not get in. Sorry to have hijacked this tread.
