I can see it now. Driving up to the show and my car looking like the star of that old AAMCO commerical where all the parts falling off the car behind me.

You need that bumper sticker I saw on an old Triumph once:

"Only the FINEST British parts fall of this car..."

Chuck, I'm out. I just found out through the "schedule maker/keeper" that I have Back To School Night that night.

Don't listen to the caddies at Royal Port Rush when they say that lightning never strikes the course.

No need. I'm working with them to hold a block of spots so that we can all park together and will add you to the list.

tc_sj 08-22-2008 03:27 PM

Thanks again Chuck

One suggestion, can we meet some where near Mt View and drive in as a group?

Tan

Sorry for the confusion, but I just spoke with the event organizer and was informed that Mountain View has decided to close Castro Street to car traffic between 4:45 and 9:00. That means you need to be there by 4:30, and then you are stuck there until 9:00.

Is anyone still interested in doing this?

289fia_cobra 08-22-2008 05:15 PM

Sorry Chuck, if that's the rule, I understand but I won't be going then.

Chuck - I'm on vacation that week, so I'm game if you are.

boblyon1 08-23-2008 02:19 AM

Chuck - My SPF is getting an engine rebuild here in the North Bay but it should be available in plenty of time for September 4th. Do you still have room? It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

OK, I'm in. At this point it looks like you, me and Bob.

Anyone else who is still coming, given the new logistics, please reconfirm on this thread by Wednesday so I can give them the final car count.

Doug, I played Pine Valley, Bayonne CC and Bethpage Black (twice) last week. Bethpage was OK, but it's easy to see how they could make it almost unplayable with an US Open setup. Pine Valley was amazing.

Did you forget about me? I can stay up a bit passed my bedtime!
Danette will come if any of the other wives do.

That's great!

Milana has a favorite Thai restaurant there that might work as a bribe.

I just got back from taking the car out for the first real drive since geting it new sneakers.

Wow! :D

Man, you're a golf machine!.

I've tuned up my "L" game (about the middle of the alphabet) for our golf game on Friday.

I think Kathleen is also on board for the car show on 9/4.

scootter 08-25-2008 11:58 AM

Did you put Pumas or Adidas on them?

We had our golf tournament last Friday at Santa Teresa golf coarse. That was my second time this year. So I think I'm done for 08. I had to take my dirt bike out Sunday morning Metcalf OHV park. Thats a bit more my speed!:3DSMILE:

BTW, are we supposed to fill out reg forms, or do you have that taken care of? Let me know if you want to meet somewhere in town.

Scott

You need to find a course that will let you use your dirt bike instead of a golf cart. I'd pay to see that.

Registration is all set. Bob is driving down from the North, so maybe we should all try to meet at Baji's around 4.15?

boblyon1 08-26-2008 11:52 PM

Baji's

Just where is it?

vanoochka 08-27-2008 09:53 AM

Here you go, Bob. http://www.bajis.com/ Too bad this isn't a golf tournament, as you would easily win the "longest drive" award. **)

Now confirmed are:

Doug
Scott
Bob
me

I'll block 6 spaces, just in case... We should leave Baji's no later than 4:30. They close at 3:00, so the parking lot should be wide open for early arrivers.

Chuck
