decent mechanic for daily driver?
Hey there bay area dudes.
My sister and her fiancee just moved back to the bay area from Boston. They are both grad students so funds are tight. They called to ask if I knew of a decent honest budget friendly mechanic and I had to admit that I didn't. So, I thought I'd ask on her behalf, Mountain View would be ideal but they can drive a little ways. Its not major work as the car isn't that old (Camry I think, but not positive). I did mention that cheap, honest, and good in the same sentence as mechanic probably isn't going to happen  although honestly if someone is a good mechanic I personally feel they deserve to be fairly paid, but that's another topic. Thanks for any feedback. Daryl |
Daryl,
I've taken my Acura to Michael and Company in San Jose. Probably not the cheapest independent, but they seemed to be honest and did quality work. They installed a timing belt and water pump on my car at 100K, and I'm up to 185k now. http://www.michaelandcompany.com/ Their body shop also did an excellent job on Chuck's screaming yellow SPF. :D |
Yarnells in Mountain View is great. I have sent many customers to them. The other alternative is Foriegn Affair in Santa Clara.
