Probability is now 80% to make lunch. Carb, fuel tank, and fuel pump are all back in. I just need to run the new fuel line and filters, tighten everything up and put some gas in it.
Milana doesn't generally like going on long drives right after I've done work on the car , but I think I can talk her in to coming along. If no gremlins arrive, I'll see you at the 76 station. |
Good. Hope to see you two.

Doug ,
The fitting on the back of the smiths repro guage is a 3/8x24 UNF thread, royal brass on 10th street SJ had them, the other portion of the line was AN-3 braided SS and NPT to the block. You can make it yourself, or I would be happy to help. Hope to see you at 11:15AM. |
Unless they changed since Greg's car # (I think in the 1700's), the fitting is BSF on the back of the gauge. I bought oil lines for both our cars. None of the local store's carried any British thread fitting's. I ordered them from BAT Inc http://www.batinc.net/main.htm out of Florida.

Happy New Year 2009
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Happy New Year and have a great Alices'. I love that place. Today I am moving furniture so, sadly, I won't be able to be with those of you who are thick-skinned enough to make this beautiful drive into "our" fog-enshrouded, redwood-covered Santa Cruz Mountains. By now, you are probably already there and having a great breakfast, drive back safely! Randy Klein, who lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains**) |
I think I'm out. It's still socked in over in Santa Cruz and Hwy 17 could be interesting at the Summit. Have fun and I'll catch up with you next time.
|
I'm out, too.
Anyone want to shift to Saturday when the forecast is for sunshine? |
Sounds good to me. The roads are still soaked here!!
If it dries up later, the car will be fired up and taken for a drive!! Scott |
Scott - If it gets dry and you want some company, give me a call.
|
10/4 Will do!!!!!

We had to make a trip to the Vet this AM. ... sadly not the chevrolet kind. ..
may be up for a Sat AM run, got to be in santa clara by about 10AM |
Tom & Maggie / Ed / Jeff / Chris and I met at high noon at Alice's ... it was fogged in!
On the way there, I actually kept up with Chris' ERA in my TR6, the whole (1) mile through Saratoga @ 25 MPH ... after that, not so much. A good portion of Skyline was actually dry road and clear blue sky. Other parts however were damp and really thick with fog, quite a change. By the time we left after lunch, it was breaking up a bit. Happy New Year! - Tim |
Tim,
It was nice meeting you. With those wet roads, you wouldn't have had too much difficulty keeping up with me. For those of you that didn't make it, you missed a beautiful day. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...16_Medium_.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...15_Medium_.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...18_Medium_.jpg |
Chris,
Nice to meet you as well, great pictures! - Tim |
