Registration and emissions

How have most of you handled registration and emissions in Chattanooga? I am concerned that I might have a problem with a turnkey slabside from ERA.
Is a previously titled car easier?
Does it matter if it a new or old block?
Is there anything I need to get ERA to do to make my emissions and registration easier?

rbtrader-
Answers to your questions based on my experience in Hamilton County:
Is a previously titled car easier? Yes, because then it is just a title transfer, not the creation of a title.
Does it matter if it a new or old block? No
Is there anything I need to get ERA to do to make my emissions and registration easier? MSO for the chassis and for the engine if possible. The state will be your major problem. If you don't have the engine MSO they'll ask you for the title number for the donor car, ie, where did the engine/drive train come from. It would also be wise for you to do some ground work in advance with the County Clerk people in the Bonny Oaks office. There's one or two people there who understand how these cars are titled and licensed. Sorry I can't give you a name, but it will be to your advantage to find said person early on. Emissions testing is a piece of cake. Take the car to the Bonny Oaks inspection station and ask to see the state mechanic, who also supervises all the inspection stations. He'll look at your car and write you an exemption.
Good luck.

rbtrader, Before I found my Cobra (that is titled as a 65 ) I made a trip to Bonny Oaks emissions station asking him the same question about emissions testing on another Cobra I found that was not titled as a 65. He told me to bring it over and he would issue me an exemption for it. He is a very nice guy! Cwizard is 100 % correct as usual !!!!
