We had 4- 427 Cobra's and 8- 289 Cobra's and a 67 GT 350 bought new by the original owner who was driving it! All the cars were being driven even in the rain! ( The way a REAL Cobra should be driven! ) They were from all over the USA. They do a cruise some where every year. They were staying on Lookout Mountain and ended up eating dinner and seeing the museum at Coker Tire. All the guys were very nice and willing to show you their Cobra's and talk about them. Mark

The GT 350 was bought new buy the owner that was driving it. It was a demo bought new at Dockery Ford in 1967. The grey color is the rarest color for a 67 Shelby Mustang. It was an early car. You can tell by the lights in the side scoops. I used to own a 67 GT 350 exactly like this car. Mine was repainted red with white stripes.

This 427 was painted by George Barris when it was brand new. Carroll had it painted for the original owner by Barris.

That's that Tom Cotter group. They're probably just looking in all the local barns for automotive treasure.

They drove at least 300 to 350 miles every day they were here all to different places. They go to different areas every couple days and drive some neat roads!!! Everyone of the guys was very friendly and will talk about their cars as long as you want! David, the guy with the Barris paint 427 was very nice. It still is all original never been restored!

Was talking with "Billy W." (owner of the red 427 street car) last week about the upcoming trip, he was excited to get away from his business and let the car stretch it's legs.

Jim M. let Dave drive the psychedelic Cobra this year.

The white one is Jim Maxwell's car... I got to drive that car for about 120 miles about 8 or 9 years ago...
Awesome event.

Nedsel 05-31-2014 11:11 PM
