Heater bezel

Heater bezel
Does any body have a mylar bezel face for the optional heater? I took my dash apart to straighten out the wiring and paint it. I noticed that the bezel overlay that labels the knobs is beat up. If I can't find a new overlay, I will probably just engine turn the alum face and leave it with no labels. Also any idea where to get new cables that control the defrost, heater butterfly and water valve. The last owner butchered the ends and I would rather just start with new. thanks

Mine is just a flat alum plate with 4 holes ...one for the rotory fan switch and the other three are for push pull choke type knobs..

I will have to dig thru the documention that came with the car. I know everthing fits in well. Maybe the control head that was posted by tcrist earlier will work. I have three push pull cables and one three position switch. Thanks

I too have a stock control panel like Terry's. New and never used, if you need on??????

This looks like a cleaner way to go. I have three push/pull cables. One controls the mechanical water valve, one controls the butterfly for dash vents or defrost, and the last one controls the butterfly for directing the heat to the floor or to the dash/defrost. Does this controller connect to these butterflies? the heater box in the car has to be a CR unit. It fits too well to be something that the guy adapted. I appreciate all of your info.

The one that Terry shows and the one I have are the OEM controls for this heater. It does exactly as you say.

Believe it or not I just found out what Chrysler product it came out out of ........
An '83 OMNI! You might still be able to get the correct Cables from Chrysler?
Know in advance that your heater box SHOULD have two Vacuum motors on it that go to this switch
(It is the vacuum that actually controls the defroster plate.)
You didn't ask--but--Vintage Air makes a great electric operated mini-heater that we use in the Cobras. Saves a lot of grief hooking up vacuum hoses, motors and cables! Probably cheaper in the long run too?

I changed to the Vintage Air unit. That is why I have all of this extra heater goodies.

Thank you DV and Terry.. I do NOT have any vacuum motors on my heater box. The car originally had a radical cam that did not give much low end vacuum. Perhaps that is why it is all mechanical. I had Comp Cam grind me a cam that will give me low end vacuum now. I gues my question to both of you is what is the best economical way to go. It sounds like the cotrol you hav DV needs actuators. Terry if I read you right, you have all of the parts (controller, dash bezel, actuarors)? Let me know if this is correct. DV/Terry, what is the Vintage air setup look like and do you know the cost? You can PM if that is easier. Thanks to both of you for all of your info and help. This site is like an extended Cobra family..

Sorry, NO Bezel plate. No cables, No vacuum motors, just the head switch controls.
