Sebring Swaybar?

Glad I found this site and happy you allow some non cobra folks to hang around.

I'm hoping someone can give me a lead. I am desperately searching for a ft swaybar for my Sebring 5000. For some reason, the original builder didn't get that option, and boy do I need one.

Would anyone know who built them for CCR? Or have one to sell? LOL

Maybe you are totally going thru your ft suspension and can take pics and measurements?

Any help appreciated!

Kevin

I was told awhile ago, that the sebring and cobra frames were very similair on the ft end.

Never could prove it.

Any one have a picture of their CCR Cobra suspension?

Have you goined the Yahoo Sebring group? I will post the link tonight also unless someone else does it before me. We have a few Sebring owners on this site.

In my manual it just states to purchase from CR. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

I believe that the front sway is like a 1 1/8" sway bar from a 1978 Bronco..
And if I recall correctly, DV mentioned that this is way to thick and to take it off (car will handle better)
I have the sway bar and it is thick. I hope a better solution can be found because I am interested too.

Now it makes sense

Well, I have partially solved my mystery. After joining the sebring yahoo group, I cruised thru photo albums. A gentleman named abney has his build documented nicely and there it was---- A pic of a mounted swaybar on a sebring frame. I studied real careful and went out and squirmed under my car.

I answered 2 questions at once- where in the #$%#@ do you mount a swaybar on one of these and why does my car never have a problem with temps.

The gent who built mine put in a HUGE griffin alum radiator that come 2-3 inches below the front frame member where there ARE swaybar mounts. He tucked it so tight and built such a nice rad mount, that I really never noticed. :o

Guess I will have to tackle handleing issues from another angle.

Thanks for the help guys!!

Would you be so kind as to post a link to abney's build???
I would be interested in seeing it.
Thanks

Search for the Sebring Owners group on Yahoo groups. You will need to join the group to view the pics. Pretty painless with lots of good info and a helpful community.

My Sebring appears to have the front sway bar from a Mustang II. I believe CR also sold one too.

Good luck...
