Dumb thing.. looking for coil spring isolators
This is for the front coil springs where they fit to the lower control arms. I do not have coilovers, so I still have the coil springs originally used in Pintos (but they are new Moog parts). Looking to find something nice to use for the non-flat end of the coil spring (where you cut off a coil). I've been to the dealer, Energy Suspensions (bought the tube but it doesn't fit right), bunch of other websites, tried a few of my own ideas with no decent results.
Anyone have any lying around after you've converted to coilovers? Any suggestions? My next thought is dipping them in liquid rubber, but I doubt it would last very long. Appreciate your help. MC |

Go to a wrecking yard and pull ones from a MII suspension.

If you cut off a coil then you need to try and flatten out the seat. You can file or grind it. You can also find rubber insulators for Mustang II or Pinto front suspension at Speedway Motors, the hot rod supply house. They are a great source for parts. also, at very little cost you can get new springs for your application from them too.
Good luck,Byron |
