heat shield

does any one know were i can get the leather heat shield that folds out over the side pipes and folds back up next to the seat so my wife won't burn her legs again ?

I don't know where you can get that particular design. If you need something quick in the mean time, I just took a black welding blanket and sewed up some "sleeves" which slip easily over the side pipes. I made one for each side, and they store easily down beside the seat. You don't really notice them in there when stored, and no burns yet for my wife!

Good luck!

NOT trying to be a smart ass, but if she would use the proper method of getting In/Out of a Cobra she would never get snake bitten. Been there.....

DV, just curious, what's the "proper" way to enter and exit?

Step in and slide down(?)
Stand up and step out(?)

I tried to tell people that, shown them and explained where to grab the seat and how to slide down. Some still don't listen.
regardless, I still warn them every time. (my brother-in-law has ridden with me several times and mocks me, "I know, I know, be careful, pipes are hot")
I installed heat shields over the winter, but I'm still careful %/

bigh,
Exactly as mptech states. Gingerly Use the corner of the windshield to keep your balance while standing up with Both feet INSIDE the Cobra, once up then step out and away from the car. NO burns!
PS Couldn't have thought of a better 5,100 th post!

Getting in and out becomes really interesting if you are 6'4", use R-model seats, 16" steering wheel and a hard top!
