Classic roadster spring isolators needed
Hi my '92 CL was sitting 1" low on passenger side. Original coils were adjusted for full height. I found the rear top and bottom spring isolaters were completely shot, the right side worse.
I pulled the springs, but not able to match up the isolaters. 3 1/2"ID x 5" OD (bottom thin about 1/8") tip thick probably 3/4". I believe the are what they call style "D" (where the pig tail of the spring fits into a step). Anyone know where I can find replacements like these originals? I tried search Energy Suspension and Summit, but have not found a match. Ken |
Was this a donor part in the build manual. I would check that if you have the build manual.

Sure enough that spring is almost 1" shorter than the other (unsprung) Picking up new moog springs for Chevette tomorrow. Thinking new springs with the thicker pads will get me safe ride height. Holding off on swapping to coilovers, (beer budget) after flopping out the cash for the car lol.. |
Just a final update,
Stayed with stock type set-up replaced rear coils with brand new Moog springs, and the thicker insulators noted in my last post. I did't even change out the original Monroe shocks yet. Ride height clearance much better and ride is tremendously better. Even though the car only has 8000 miles on it, I guess 22 years caused the rear springs to sag. I noticed prior to changing springs, they were really compressed sitting on all 4's. New springs have much more spring to them. FYI springs are for an '87 Chevette, Moog from AutoZone part number RCS631V isolators energy suspension ENS9-6129G from Summit racing. Ken |
