"Series 1" CR overflow tank question

So my cobra is going up for sale, and the one thing I need to address is a pin hole in the bottom of the factory-installed plastic overflow tank. Any idea if JB Weld or the PlasticWeld will work for this purpose?

My plan is to block the bottom outside of the hole, and then fill the inside bottom of the hole with weld until it's level with the rest of the tank bottom, provided I can find the right sealant.

Thanks,

JLW

JLW,
Honestly I would think it would be easier and almost as cheap to just replace the tank. Autozone and the likes carry over flow bottles. Trying to top a leak in those poly tanks is a real pain.

DV - thanks for the reply. Don't suppose you'd have a part number handy? Is the tank a standard car part? I don't have access to my build manuals right now.

Thanks,

JLW

Absolutely, they come in all shapes and sizes. Chances of finding an exact match is pretty slim. Easiest thing I would think is just buy and overflow set up with tank and bracket. I would think less that $20.00 for an inexpensive one.

Try Alumiseal in your coolant. Should plug your leak.

If it's just a pin hole, got a soldering iron?
Let the soldering iron heat up and then melt the plastic enough and swirl it around to fill in the pin hole.
