Front brake hose too long.. Rubs on the wheels. Using the Mustang II brakes.. The brake hoses appear too long as when I turn the wheels, they rub. Looking at pics of the mustang ii setup, it looks like the dust shields would help route the lines away from the wheel. Was the expectation that the dust shields were also to be used? Otherwise are there shorter lines to be used, If so, what car? |

I checked my front brake hoses and they are 16" stainless...no dust shields and no rubbing. What length are you using? |

Wire ties or clamps Wisconsin_Snake Wire ties to the "A"arms work great or getting plastic clamps and screw them to the arms. I like wireties first. Need to check FULL range of travel after ties done. If still have a problem, find a hydrolic shop that will custom make a set of cut yours to fit. THey sell front brake hose stainless steel kits that work great and might be the right length. Rick l. |

Per RockAuto they are 16-11/16 I will try wire tires first (and ensuring that they can still travel freely). With the dust shields AND the rims being MUCH narrower on the Mustang II, I bet it was never a problem on the older cars. Thinking about it I like the idea of having a dust shield, any ideas where I could get a set? |

If you use wire ties get some 1/2" rubber hose maybe 3" long then take a razor knife and slit the hose long wise then wrap around the brake lines, then use the wire ties over rubber hose that way you won't be rubbing a hole in your brake line. It will happen if you don't use something to protect the lines. |
