Another spring & shock question, front this time.
I've got the Carerra coil over setup on the front. The front springs are 375 #/in and are a little firm for my aluminum top 351. Want to try a little softer spring in the 325 - 335 #/in range. Either of you folks have, or know where I can get a spring for this?
The Carerra shock isn't bad. It has a soft, medium, and firm adjustment on it. It to is a little stiff on the medium setting so I'll notch it down to soft and see what happens. Given my druthers, I'd prefer to replace the Carerra with a Koni. Can either of you recommend a specific Koni that would replace the Carerra? I like Koni's, have used them before on other cars, and like them for the control and dial in ability for suspension tuning. I'm using Koni's (cross referenced to the OEM VW shock per CR)on the back with Moog springs that are progressive wound load leveler replacements for the OEM Chevette. Rear seems to work fine. Good control, good ride. |
Jack21, I've never tried the Koni shocks but I would think they could be crossed to the Carrera. The lightest spring that Carrera makes for the Mustang II is the 375. The light shock setting may help with the stiffness.
