Does anyone have a good recommendation for insurance for a '91 CR? I currently have Hagerty for $450 a year .Hardly driven at all, but doing some upgrades ad plan to be back on the road soon. Thanks for any ideas.

Where do you have your house and other cars insured?

Check out American National CHROME ( Classic, Hot Rod, ....).

They cover classics as well as kit cars. They are even covering mine, even thought it is still a project.

I have Hagerty now but before them I had Erie. They did cover my SPF for a of couple years with no questions asked. I changed to Hagerty to get agreed value.

I just insured my '92 through Midwest. 298 a year I believe with agreed value and unlimited miles.

I have my CR covered by Allstate. I don't remember the premium but it's very reasonable. That could be because I also have other vehicles and home owners with them as well. The agent told me the coverage is for "current market value" and told me to keep recent detailed pictures on file in case of an accident. That way I'd have proof on the vehicle condition for a fair determination on market value.

Fortunately, I've never had to turn in a claim on this car so I can't say how "fair" their adjusters really are. I can say that it's a lot less expensive than the assessed value coverage I had prior.

I have an "Agreed Value" policy with American Modern Insurance on my SPF. They offered the best rate I could find here in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia.

Thanks for all the input. I got the same coverage from American Modern for 1/3 less than Hagerty. For the same coverage.
