Mustang II suspension YEAR identification
Hey Everyone,
I am using a new shop to do an alignment for my 92 CR His machine is asking for the year of the Mustang for the correct spec's... either 1974, or 1975-78. I believe there is a fairly easy trick to use to identify which MII suspension I have but I do not know it yet. Thanks for your help! Mike |
Mike,
I have a CR but I do not know how to identify the MII model year. I do have alignment specs that Don Scott posted years ago. These are what I have been using however Don was the CRII owner not CRI and I suppose things could have changed but these have been working for me. Classic Roadster Wheel Alignment Specs MII per Don Scott Caster-3.75 degree +/-.5 Camber-3/8 degree +/- 1/8 Toe in .03-.06 (1/32-2/32) I hope this helps you. Good luck. John |
Thanks John.
I bought my car from Don and he sent me the exact the spec's you have. The alignment machine I am trying to use seems to first want the year and type of car to do the initial set up, then the tech can adjust manually from there. I may need to go back to another shop I used where they can just enter the spec's, manually. Thanks for your help! Anyone else have the answer? Thanks, Mike |
If the tech can adjust manually after plugging in some info, I'd say just pick one and see what he can do from there. Report back if you find the answer!

All M2 suspensions were the same, so just tell the tech to plug in a 1978 Mustang II King Cobra, and manually adjust the numbers as required.

If the tech is so COMPUTER Brainwashed find another tech! Seriously.
AND YES, YES, YES!!!!! There ARE / IS TWO DIFFERENT specs to the MII Front end! When the PINTO/MII first came out , one set of specs. LATER on the MII Received different spindles! Causing new SPECS! (VERY rare to find the old Spindles!) DV OK, don't shoot the tech, he probably wasn't born when the Pinto & MII came out. |
