Bulldog again my headers are flat black but need a touch up what type of paint would be good that would hold up ?

VHT hands down, flameproof 2000 deg

Why not try Cerakote coatings, much better protection from abrasions, corrosion.

Agree.
Once you have used a ceramic coating, paint just doesn't cut it.

VHT black flameproof is your best choice for paint, reasonably good life.

i use both, i have a ceramic coat, but i use VHT over it. my ceramic coat is white.
i spray the pipes in black, then finish with 2000 degree clear satin for a nice shine

That's any interesting way of reducing the heat to a heatproof painted surface.

Might try it one day.

Cerakote offers a wide spectrum of colors for their ceramic coating, more so than Jet-Hot. I'm wondering if the paint over the ceramic will hold up given the ultra smooth ceramic surface.

Personally I would use one of their listed applicators. Having said that most of the Cerakot people I've come across are using Cerakote on high end firearms/optics.
But I'm sure even they could do a exhaust as well.

The process is a little more involved than a basic DIY.
