door panel installation

In the manual it mentions to use 13 push type pins which mount in the holes at the back of the door panel and drill 1/4 " holes in the door to receive these pins . When I got my complete kit there never where these pins but a bag marked - door hardware , has chrome screws with counter sunk washers . Which way have most of you installed these panels ? Can anyone show what type of push pin was suppose to be used , cause I think I would rather not have the panel mounts showing .

don't use the screws. Use the push style.

They are standard interior door panel plastic barbed push pins. The backside of the door panel should have a keyway slot to slide the pins into that would match up with the holes you will drill on the inside of the door frame. These interior pin clips are readily available at nearly all Automotive Parts stores in the hardware section. Check Advance, NAPA, Carquest, etc. and should have packs of 10 or more fairly inexpensive ($10?) AutoZone probably has them in small quantities and little more retail expensive.

There are many different types of these for various OEMs, the most common is about an 1-1/4 long and has a head about 5/8 diameter and barbs running down the length of the pin clip. As long as you locate something that fits the back side of your door trim panel, the length is not that important and you can drill the backside of the door to accept whatever diameter you need.
