Temp gauge
My temp gouge needle goes to the hot side with key turned to on ,it went back to normal then backto full hotwhat gives?it is a c r l. . l gauge. It must be broken . Bulldog

Check the wiring, especially for grounds. If that is OK go to NAPA or some parts store and buy a gauge that you can use in your hand and hook it onto your sensor and see what it does. If it reads OK then you have a gauge problem or a wiring problem at the back of the gauge. If not your sensor could be going bad. By it acting the way it does when you first turn the key on I would suspect a wiring issue.

also you need to know range of your sensor if electrical, not all sensors are compatible with all gauges. the gauge will have a specific ohm range required.

Temp guage
Last post my. Temp gage was acting up needle bouncing. Aroundthought it was sensor then gage but found problem I had distributor out of car when I reinstalled it the bottom of distributor was touching water temp sensor just barley but it caused a short . Bulldog
