Temp guage ok found problem distributor in car is mallory and base is larger than a standard dist. Dist was pulled around and was barley touching temp sensor causing short.i was resetting timingand had it turned to far around . Bulldog

Glad to see your temp problem resolved and also to learn that you did not have the issue with your Mallory distributor that I was having with my MSD distributor.
