The sun peeked out a few days ago and 40 felt like 70! Pulled the cars out for some air and run time. Still too much crap on the roads to take a drive.

A warning for those of you who may not be aware and live in locations where ice control solutions are used on roads and driveways. Don't drive your Cobra, classic car, motorcycle, etc. unless you're prepared upon conclusion of the drive to thoroughly clean all traces of said solution from your vehicle, not realistic for your daily driver. Those solutions are extemely corrosive, especially so when left on your vehicle for extended periods.

Glad you got her home safe Larry! After today's drive it should all be down hill!

Now steal some audio off a couple of Cobra videos, slide-in, belt-up, close your eyes and hit play! That dream should hold you until spring! :-)

Hit 45 today and sunny. I might have taken her out for a ride, but the motor is still at the machine shop. I'm hoping it's done soon so I can start to order parts. Spring is coming and right now I'm Cobraless :(

Dwight 02-25-2021 07:35 PM

took my 66 Fairlane cruising three days this week. 75 degree yesterday. 20 degree last week with ice and snow on the ground. I was stuck at home for six days.
NOT good.

Cruising in the Fairlane makes it better. We have a week of rain forecasted starting tomorrow.

I'll work inside

Lightingrod 02-26-2021 01:03 PM

Life's goal should be; "to be smarter than inanimate objects"

But so, so many fail!

Some Fairlane details please?

Dwight 02-27-2021 05:47 AM

66 Fairlane Springtime Yellow, 390 with Tremec 3550 5 speed, 3.5 gears in nine inch.

I bought it April 2019 from the third owner. Original a 289 auto eight inch rear end car.

Good clean rust free car. Always local to Moulton, Decatur area. Just a fun cruiser.

I'm building a 427 center oiler for it. Ten months and we are still waiting on parts!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try to post pictures

Hi all, this is my very first post ! as of today I am officially a Backdraft cobra owner. ! Waited 5 years to make it possible. It was delivery today in NY, Long Island during the snowstorm by covered carrier. All went well but Carrier could not fit down the road to my home. Had to delivery it in a safe place off the main highway. This attracted all kinds of people stopping to video taping etc. I couldn’t believe that even before this car was uncovered, people gathering around it while it was being lifted out. Kinda cool for me as a new owner. At this time there is almost 2 inches of snow on the ground. My home is about a half mile away. Had the top up, heat on, led lights on, wipers on. Never drove a cobra before this and my heart was pounding.....I can tell u it’s not made for snow. !! Guardsman blue, Wimbledon. 427/480 Iconic. Sitting in my garage with it dreaming for a warmer day. ! Be safe everyone !!

Congrats on your BDR, great fun car and you'll love the Iconic 427. Warmer weather will be here before you know it.

This being your first Cobra, be gentle at first. As you know, the car has a lot of power and torque and the back tires can kick out real easy.

Enjoy, send photos and be safe!

Gus
