Mine is a drum. I will pull the wheels and take a closer look.

Guess I am a little confused what is a "tone ring"?

I believe the 'tone ring' is the ring read by sensors to determine wheel speed for ABS, traction / stability control, etc.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that might be it. I had another 8.8 axle here that had the ABS and disc brakes on it. Sorry I sold it last summer now!

Thanks joyridin', I have a shop not too far away that does rear end work. I will check with him.
