The RCC coil over setup came with 175s rear and 375s for the front on a small block car.
Summit and Speedway give you one exchange no prob.

Wonder if I should go to 175s next...

sunman 04-16-2022 01:48 PM

I went from the AVO 12” 175# silver/gray springs to 10” to fit the stock location. Same shocks. I will double check my receipt to make sure it’s 175.
I could send you these 12” if you want them. No charge send some change to St. Jude maybe.
Saw a photo of air bags on a Classic now I want bags.

Sycraft 04-16-2022 03:11 PM

I am set up for 14"- have both the 200 and 175 on the way.

That's a poor man's mod done to that shock tower. You can shim it on the top, but it's still going to be off underneath where it rides the plate. You'll have to shim top, and bottom, or re-mod the plate to meet the shock angle.
I recall when I purchased mine, they ask if I was going with the stock Stang II parts, or if I was going with the aftermarket coil overs. I didn't ask why, just told the sales guy I was going with the stock components.
Post pics how you end up resolving that issue.

Front works fine, yes the bushings are a little angled . no binding and no noise. Everything lines up otherwise. This is the way it came to me. If I was going to redo it, I would have the plate cut off and an angled plate welded in. To redo the front at this point would be a total upfit. Current setup is QA1 coilovers with proper springs for the Mustang II upper mount. the red eibach springs were not used, went with the springs that came with the coilovers.

I agree with you 100% it would be a pain in the ass. I believe they CR did give one the option of the perch, or a plate when ordering from them. But I never asked, since I went the economical route way back when I still needed a monthly haircut.
Would be nice if one of the original builders would chime in on this subject.
Nice to know that you're up and running again.

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...23CD4D2C9.jpeg This is the RCC setup.
Lower control arm shock mount is 2” lower than stock.
6” Shock, 6” extension, conical upper spring mount, 7” spring 375# small block.
I think all Classics came with upper shock mount.
The adjustable anti-dive/alignment bracket has more parts not added yet.
Edit: added photos to gallery

Where can I find the pics of the anti-dive brackets you built. I definitely want to incorporate those. I couldn't find them in the gallery

Here’s some photos.
Loosen the bracket to frame bolt by holding the 1/2” x 2” bolt head and loosening the top nut. Bottom nut has red locktite and star washer.
Adjust with da 3/8”-24 nuts then tighten it all back up.
Made the frame slots longer and removed some of spring centering metal to get underneath nuts to clear.
There’s 48 pieces of hardware 4 tabs and 2 brackets.

I love that. I am at a point I can incorporate this. Where can I get these? Willing to buy! I have Heidts peers and lowers. I assume this kid will work with this setup correct?

Sycraft 04-24-2022 05:14 AM

update , Bought Rear springs in 175 and 200 in/lb versions, however the springs changed diameter in the middle, even though i ordered the correct springs. They would not fit without modifications. I could clock the spring to fit, but was afraid the rotation would cause a binding issue while driving. So I am sticking with the 225 lb springs for now. I actually ordered the incorrect springs, bought UHT versions. need standard version

Sycraft 04-24-2022 06:03 AM

have the proper springs on the way for the rear. I remember seeing DV stating that many had 175 in the rear of the CR.

RonKahn 04-24-2022 06:08 AM

I may have to go down to 175 as well. Can you post the part number?

HYP1814B0175 by HYPERCO
Coil Spring, Coil-Over, 2.500 in ID, 14.000 in Length, 175 lb/in Spring Rate, Steel, Blue Powder Coat

I’m making a jig for these and am pricing a 304 stainless version with bolts tig welded on.
These are steel with a Allen head cap screw mig welded on.
I think stainless is strong enough. Checking it out.
Get back to you soon could make more I’ve got the steel. Will post parts and dimensions.
The a-arm to bracket bolt can be raised to make room for thicker area around bolt hole stock type a-arm have.

Accidentally double posted…..

Are you guys talking about stock rear springs? Those Hyperco rear springs- have you installed those yet? I’ve been looking for rear springs- mine have an inside diameter of 3.5”. However those Hyperco ones say 2.5”.

these are for a coilover setup, the stock springs are larger that sit on the control arms. Mine stock were 225 lb springs there. we all fabricated mounts and went to a coilover setup.
