Rear inner wheel wells

What are you guys doing on the inner wheel wells to block off the open area?

Sycraft 07-27-2021 05:07 AM

you should have 2 small shields that cover the latch area, Mine were not installed correctly and had to be repositioned.

sunman 07-27-2021 10:15 AM

Do you have the about 1 foot wide, half circle inner wheelwell pieces?

440.mustang 07-27-2021 07:18 PM

I have the wheel well pieces that go from rear fender lip in toward frame, is thete supposed to be something to cover the trunk and back of the shelf behind seats?

440.mustang 07-27-2021 07:21 PM

I have the covers for door latches, they haven't been mounted yet,

Chicagowil 07-27-2021 07:26 PM

This is what I have, I don't like it just open, not sure it has a panel that I'm missing or if I have to make my own out of aluminum

Hey that little angle with a hole is for a bump stop!
That’s probably in the manual rite
You really wanna hide that fiberglass...

440.mustang 07-28-2021 05:10 PM

It looks like a catch all, I think it would be cleaner covered up, what do you mean bump stop?

sunman 07-28-2021 05:21 PM

That rubber hockey puck between the shock and spring
I’m working right there wondering what bolts to that bracket
I kinda remember seeing those in the parts and thinking “where do those go?”
Thanks for the pix
Good point on covering it up that’s a lot of dirt from the tires there

440.mustang 07-28-2021 05:32 PM

No problem, this one is going to paint august 20th, I have the other one that is missing the cowl hoop, where the door hinges and windshield mount, and wiper motor, I can't get to this one to get measurements, I'll be fabricating one, if I can't find one, also need a trunk lid

sunman 07-28-2021 06:05 PM

I will get you some hoop numbers soon. Got to lift body with a hoist, all my buddy’s don’t want to do any heavy liftin:rolleyes:

440.mustang 07-28-2021 07:27 PM

No rush, why are you pulling body off?

sunman 07-28-2021 09:15 PM

This is still a new kit and I am welding the seat belt and roll bar piece in, then doing all the other chassis and driveline work and painting it
Doing the big go-cart thing before putting the body back on
Some friends and I lifted it on as a good place for storage back in 1998!
Boomarang, my dad named her, sold twice always came back

440.mustang, I have an unassembled car, all parts are OEM from CRII. If you need parts, do you want me to take them to a local fiberglass place, and see what it would cost to replicate them? I actually wanted to find a second trunk lid for mine too to mount a luggage rack on should I ever want to take it on a road trip. I wonder if an Emerson Cobra trunk lid would work? his car is based on the CRII.
