5 point harnesses,
How are you attaching the 5 point racing belts. I dont have roll bars, I may build a single roll bar, from one side to the other, not for looks, looking for ideas

If you are talking about the shoulder harness bolts, there is a bulkhead below the package tray to bolt them to.

A 30” piece of 3”x 3” angle iron is added to chassis between frame rails
Your inner roll bar attachment sleeves are welded to it Not sure but I believe Don Scott added it to the CR II frame Edit: removed seatbelts are bolted to angle. This is not a good place for seatbelt bolts |
This is the location, where the bolt and washer are. Not the best of locations since the harness will tend to roll off your shoulders. Roll bar mount is a better choice in my opinion.

The roll bar in Marks photo looks like a cosmetic bar bolted in.
Real roll bars drop down to a 3”x3” angle, that you have to add, underneath the tray further back. Your inside bar sleeves are welded to this angle. There is area to add plate outside of frame rails for the outside or single hoop roll bar legs. Attach harness to roll bar because: Shoulder belts should be attached level to shoulders and not be redirected by seats Lower bolt location is unsafe and in an accident can cause spine compression Party On |
For a good "how-to" guide to safety harness installation, go here: https://www.simpsonraceproducts.com/...llation-guides
and download the "Seating Positions Seat Belt Installation Manual." It's a page and a half, and right to the point. Tom |

Every chance I get, I'm fixing, or undoing the hacks the builder (Celina Custom Auto) built into my Cobra. It's time consuming, and expensive. https://scontent-hou1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...c8&oe=616FBD43 |
The Classic bolt in bar is like that and referred to as the cosmetic roll bar vs weld in. Not any kind of a put down.
Search roll bar in the CR II threads to see what I’m talking about The 3”x 3” was added to all the cars DV and probably Don built according to an 02 post. There are plans for the bolt in bars in the roll bar threads. It’s a safety thing so I relayed what the pros said You gotta admit, great ride your working on and it’s a blast Party On |
