Rear lower control arms.

Has anyone upgraded their rear lower control arms with something else other than boxing in the existing arms. I’m thinking adjustable for upper and lower rear end links so the drive shaft can be centered.

Thanks

As I remember, someone recently did have custom made lowers with helical connectors. They are a custom length, as I understand. But the uppers are stock length Fox Body uppers.

Thanks for the info, I’ll see if I can find any information.

I use heim joints and sleeves that I got at Speedway Motors. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/

Hi Steve,

Could you send me the part numbers and possibly some pictures?

Thanks

In my gallery I have some pics of the adjustable bars. I had to have them shortened and powder coated. Uppers were Hotchkis not sure of the number but could find it if needed. Minor mods so they wouldn't interfere during travel.

just remember a way to mount the rear sway bar, that is the reason I did not do custom lowers.

Hey John,

The lower control arms you made is what I’m looking for my set up. Could you send me the specs and part numbers. That’s some nice work you did!

Thanks Man!

Paul,
I had all the rear end suspension work done by a fellow enthusiast. Unfortunately he passed about two weeks after the work was done, sadly in his Cobra. I don't know what he used for the rear lower arms. Ill be under the car in the next few days. If I see any identifiers, I will forward them to you but I don't recall any.

Thanks guys,
He passed in 2012. His name was Scott somewhere in his late twenties. Inherited his Cobra from his Dad when his Dad passed away a year earlier. He built his Dad's FFR with a friend. Sad to lose him. He was a well liked kid with so much ahead of him. Not really sure how it happened but he ended up in a ravine next to the freeway and sustained injuries he later died from.

When you removed the rear bushings from the lower arms, did you have them pressed out, or you cut them out. My energy suspension bushings finally came in.
