Interior Door Panel Replacement
Has anyone had to replace the door panel on the passenger side in their CR? Mine is looking a bit worn out. I'm wondering if a standard panel will fit or if the CR cars have longer doors with the extra length? I found these at Shell Valley but when I contacted them, they were pretty sure they wouldn't fit.

Go and see your local motor trimmer. I'm sure he/she could help you. Either make a new door card or re trim both existing.

Upholstery shop should be able to make you something similar. I doubt those SV units would fit. I need new ones too.

The only other door car even close is on an Excaliber- but still different.
Do you have the plastic style door card base? It would be pretty easy to have a car/RV/Boat upholstery shop redo the door cards. I just installed my cards last week. My car is a CR1. It has the plastic base with a thin sheet of foam and the skin over that. The holes for the plastic insert style clips had never been drilled. That was the hardest part. I also added the leather door stops that FFR sells for their Roadster. I had my dash recovered last month- it was $500. She had to clean up the fiberglass a bit more after I removed the cover. She added a thin foam under the black covering. I think it turned out nice. I should get the dash installed this week. Just finished the carpet today. And then the seats go in. |
Here are a few shots of the door cards & seats installed as well as the carpet.
The carpet & seat colors came with the kit. I was very reluctant to use the carpet until I saw the recent AC sold in the UK came with this same color! And, it somehow works OK with the Viking Blue. If I get tired of it, I can take them out to be redone easily. As I stated before, I already had the dash recovered in black. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=20853&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=20850&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=20852&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=20836&thumb=1 |
