Update on current Build

Been a lot of modifications going on. Hopefully I can post these pictures correctly.

I cut and moved the left frame rail over 2" to give more footwell room for the fuel pedal, and also opened up the frame and fiberglass box left of the clutch pedal so there is more room. Will create a removal box and install after the body is on that will give about 4 for inches of room left of the clutch, but can be removed if the body has to be removed. I should have about 6" of more footroom and more "leg" room on the trans tunnel as well. Will finish the fiberglass work soon. Thanks to RoyleRumble for the fiberglass information!!

I also completely modified the clutch pedal from plastic bushings to fully sealed and press-in roller bearings. The pedal is moving very smoothly and easier than with the original plastic bushings.

I have also mocked-up the dash (covered in blue tape to protect it during mock-up). This is a full carbon fiber dash from Factory Five and made it fit really easy. None of the holes cut out yet, but mocked up.

Currently remaking the engine mounts. I have the big block mounts and will not fit a small block setup. Wrong angle and puts too much stress on the rubber mounts. Simple fix to remake them.

So, in the 22 months I have had this kit to work on when I have time, I have:
built and broke in the engine
built the transmission
built the rear end
modified and built the rear end
severely modified and built the front suspension
modified and built the radiator and cooling fan setup
modified and built the steering perch mount, along with the column as well
severely modified the dash with a custom carbon fiber dash

Next is to create the mount for the oil cooler and then fabricate the roll bar(s). I have a set of Shell Valley bars but will have to be severely modified to fit. I may just use the dimensions provided on this site to have a correct set made, we shall see.

I will post reply's with more pictures

Thanks everyone!!

Verrry nice welding skills there Ron and nice fabrication / assembly skills. Your car will be beautiful.

I really wish I could take credit for some of the welding. I have done a lot of it, but when the thick frame had to be welded, I hired a professional. I live in NC and the guy that did the welding welds up NASCAR frames for a living, so he knows what he is doing. Thanks !!
