Classic Roadster II IRS
Recently on a local Facebook Marketplace there is a Classic Roadster II with IRS. Does anyone know if this was ever offered or is it someone’s retrofit. I’m very interested as I’ve never liked the sharp drive shaft angle using a solid axle 8.8 rear.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../IMG_0007.jpeg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../IMG_0002.jpeg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../IMG_0003.jpeg

Ed Combs “Double Venom” built DV II with IRS in early 2000s
Are there roll bar holes that have been filled and car repainted? What motor is in it? It maybe has had the motor changed DVs did 1.28 on a skid pad No IRS cars from CR or CRII None were discussed on Club Cobra except DVs His son is looking, whereabouts unknown That’s a lot of engineering |
The listing states 801 miles 460 engine with C6 transmission. Again it’s for sale on Facebook marketplace and can only answer questions in the posting.

i looked into a conversion for quite awhile using the stronger explorer irs. Very interesting because it looks like stock drive axles. I ran into overall width and bolt pattern issues. I finally decided against it and leave my 9". when I can get around to it. Many detours of late.

Looking at it some more I would say they sourced a factory five IRS assembly. I have never seen those lower control arms anywhere else.

I recall when I ordered mine in 1997, that I was asked if I was going to us an 8", 9", or an independent rear-end. Was told that the majority went with the 8", so that's what I went with, and the cost was cheaper.
