MII front end alignment problem solved
The way the front end alignment is set, and then locked in place on the Pinto, and Mustang II, and duplicated on the CR, was not one of Fords (or CR's) prize winning ideas. Some alignment shops won't align a MII setup because it's such a pain in the butt. Then when you hit a bump or two, the alignment is gone because it won't stay put. Even the steel arms with serrations are problematic.
Don & DV tipped me off to a set of upper control arm brackets made by Tom Beroth (Bethania Garage) that bolts to the control arm location, rotates the arm 90 deg, bolts the arm to the bracket, and is then adjusted with shims (like most real cars). Also rotates the leading end of the arm slightly "UP" for better braking. $100/pr. Problem solved. Car steers so much better properly aligned, and the shims aren't going anywhere. Thanks guys. My alignment shop says "Thanks" also. |

Now that you have it aligned, weld, yup weld the cross bar. I guarantee it will never move! I weld em with the bolts in place, haven't had one "slide" yet! DV |
