Hey Don Scott....Me Again!!!!
Don,
The clutch cable is great!!! Minimal effort with a Ram HP pressure plate.....Like driving a 500HP Volkswagen!!!! Have you ever used electric door latch activators from Watson's Street Works??? The cables on my car are not only in a bad place, they are pretty stiff and the driver's side has slipped some. Thought about using the solenoid setup to activate the "Bear-Claws" and putting the buttons inside behind the seats. Whatcha think??? Jack   :MECOOL: :MECOOL: |
Sorry Guys....
I meant to put this in the other "Classic Roadsters" Forum. Op-Error!!! While I'm here, Have any of you used these?? Thanks, Jack |
Jack,
We use these all the time on the Cobras and yes they work on the Bear Claws. If you want, give me a call at 740-852-5280. I'll be glad to tell you what to use and how to install them. DV |
Thanks DV......
I called Watsons and the part # was L-22N...The guy said they have upgraded the solenoids and thus the "N" designation!! Also the price was up about $15.00!!! Should have 'em next week and start on it next weekend. Thanks Again, Jack:cool:  :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:   |
Jack,
Excellent...The lower price I gave you was our price ;) If you have any questions on installation, give me a shout! DV |

mkcobra....
I bought the solenoids, switches, wiring, etc. but have not put them in yet. I emailed DV and asked about solenoid location and orientation with respect to the "bear claw" but have heard nothing yet?? I guess I'll remove the glassed in covers in the rear wheel wells and begin the task......I'll probably call DV when I get that far. It can't be that tough but I don't want to experiment to find the proper install. Stay tuned....I'll post pix as I do it!! Jack :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
I mounted the solenoids just above the latches in my CR:

Thanks Petek....
My instructions supplied from Watson's say to itilize a pulley arrangement and not to use a direct pull as you seem to have done?? Also, is that bracket you have the solenoid mounted to a part of the car or did you fabricate it?? Thanks again, Jack:confused:  |
I direct connected the cable from the solenoid to the latch. The "mount" is two stainless steel clamps around the solenoid and the latch bracket. The latch bracket is something that CR supplies and is normally where you tie-wrap the manual pull cable.
I should also note that I'm not using the same solenoids and that I put a relay right at the solenoid so the solenoid gets a good shot of power. |
