5.0 EFI Conversion
Could any one point me to the cheapest place to find wiring harnesses for this conversion. Also is there anywhere on the web where you can purchase factory Ford parts.
Thanks in advance Kirk Also: found a great Instruction guide for Fuel injection wiring and vacuum set up for the 5.0 www.vintagebronco.com/newberry/images/Tech/efi/ |
Have you tried the classified section over at the Corral:

Painless has a nice Ford wiring harness. Check it out at:

The Ford Motorsport one is much cheaper, but I am looking for the one that ties the computer to the CR fuse panel/rest of the car.

Kirk, You won't find a harness that ties into the Classic wiring. You will need to adapt whatever engine/computer harness you buy to the Classic harness. I'm sure we can help when you get to that point, it's pretty easy to adapt.

Kirk,
I just got done hooking up my FRPP EFI harness to the chassis wiring harness in my Cobra (not a Classics Roadsters, but the wiring is probably pretty similar). The FRPP harness comes with a very good instruction book. Following the directions in the book, it was really pretty easy to hook up. After you get it all hooked up, get a Ford code reader at the auto parts store (about $30) and check the codes. There are some tricks I discovered from the FFR guys on FFCobra.com. If your not going to use the smog equipment, you can replace the TAD and TAB solenoids and the EGR vacuum control valve with 10K ohm resistors. That way the computer's happy and you don't have a bunch of unneeded stuff cluttering up your engine compartment. E-mail me if you have any questions. Pete |
Thanks all
I was wondering how much of these sensors and relays I was going to need to make the computer work. When you look at this diagram it looks like a lot of clutter. http://www.vintagebronco.com/newberr...efi/page22.gif Kirk |
Kirk,
The only things on that vacuum diagram you really need are the lines to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the PCV valve. Pete |
