Pictures of your Classic Roadsters Cobras?
Hey Classic Roadsters Cobra owners...where are your pictures?
I'm posting this for a local friend named Tom who is buying a used Classic Roadsters (CR) Cobra this week. It is being shipped now. Tom is excited about getting his first Cobra, to go right along side of his 70 Shelby Mustang. He's goin' topless now! We were looking out on ClubCobra to see if he could find some nice pictures of other people's CR Cobras to check. Not too many CR pictures out there. Hmmm. We looked in the Classic Roadsters Forum and saw very few pictures in threads and individual owner Galleries. Or, we just may not be looking in the right places? If any of you kind owners out there would not mind posting a few pics or links of your nice Classic Roadsters Cobras, that would be great. Side pics, engine pics, chassis pics, driving pics, video links - whatever ya got ? Tom would greatly appreciate it! Thank You. |
Duane,
If you don't mind a couple of modifications you can look in my gallery--Ron61. We made my body ourselves but used a Classic Roadster mold and the chasis is from Classic Roadster. I had some things that I wanted different back then from what they did such as the roll bar and side pipes. I also have a billet steel insert inside the door frame and have moulded steel into the body where it bolts to the chassis. Most people look at it and don't even notice anything except the roll bar but I went to a single collector instead of the 4 into one type as I wasn't trying for an original look and wanted something that wa different. Also the single collector dumping into the side pipes has a little less back pressure. My car was the first one by Emerson and his cars now are far better and improved over what mine is. Ron |
I added some Classic pictures to my gallery today, enjoy!

Don,
Those are really nice cars that you just added. Are they both yours ? I really like the red. Ron:) :) :) :) |
One of these days I'll have to put some pictures onto this site ... but until then, check out http://www.birch.net/~petek/cobra

Ron, 3 of the pictures are customer cars There's actually 4 different ones in the pictures. The 2 blue cars have different engines, 1 has a stroked 427, dynoed at 501hp, the other has a 302 with a paxton supercharger, dynoed at 425hp. The red one with no stripe has a 275hp 302. I've built about 75 of the Classic Cobras over the last 12 years. The red one with the hardtop is mine. It has a 427 Center oiler with the dual quad carbs. It's a used one I bought about a year ago.

Hope your friend enjoys his car. They are great fun and attract alot of attention. Check my photo gallery for CR pics. I bought my car in '92. Got it on the road in '95. Built it entirely myself. The engine is a FE 406. Paul |
406,,as in original 406 or bored/stroked something else? 406 is kinda cool, rare!

Re: THANKS!
Thanks CR people! All of the pics and links are great.
I just stopped by to see my friend Tom and the CR Cobra he just bought. It was dropped off today by Passport Transport. He purchased it right here through an adverstisement on good ol' Club Cobra. The car was shipped from a gentlemen in Ohio to California. Seems like the whole thing turned out well for both parties. Well...Tom drove the car, put it in the garage, drove the car, put in the garage, drove the car, and even started it a few times more in the garage today... you get the idea; we all know how it is when you get your first Cobra... No more having to explain to him why a Cobra is so much fun in comparison to other cars. In one short day - he knows now, 1st hand. Unless its raining, I'm certain it will be in and out of the garage more than a few times this coming weekend! Its fun watching new Cobra owners get all excited on Day-1. What was funny...is his garage has a new Vette, Shelby Mustang, 2nd convertable Mustang, and various other toys in there... what really stood out in the garge is his new Cobra. Very Cool! I let Tom know that all of you were so kind post pics of your cars, and that he has a thread he can go to now to meet all of you Classic Roadsters Gurus. I'm emailing him this thread now and Tom will be signing up on ClubCobra soon. Thanks Again! |
Ernie
Its a FE 406 BB as in 1963 original. Lots of fun Thanks Paul |
