OK...Which one of you did this???
Jack**) :MECOOL: |
I think that was the White GT 40 I was following last weekend at the Austin Hillcountry Run. I couldn't muster 167 but I did get up to 135 on the "Air Out Section" of the run. I knew it was time to slow down when I looked over at my wife and she was flour white and looking for a fraidie bar. She never said a word until we slowed down and she told me that the wind had pulled the wrapper off my Hershey Almonds bar. Darn I could have gotten a ticket for littering.

Oh, Ok it was me in my '81 Ford P/U Just had tranny rebuilt and was on test drive. Damn thing caught 4th gear at 150 and bam there I was runing 167 and taching 3600 RPM's just gotta change that rear!!!
|
Art,
I need a pickup like yours. I knew everything was faster in the Northeast but I had no idea it was that much faster. I have a whole new appreciation for the phrase "In a New York Minute". |
All that speed and dodging pot holes too! Go to my gallery to see
ryme ice build up after 167 mph run. I guess I'll have to add air plane deicing boots to leading edge of the hood! |
Beep beep, beep beep, my horn went beep beep beep. I still can't get the Nash Rambler out of second gear!

I had forgotten about that song!!! HA HAA.... crud, now I can't get it out of my mind :D |
J.T. I know the feeling, I've had that stupid oompa loompa song from Willy Wonka in my head for about 3 weeks. I wake up whistling the stupid thing.
OOmpa Loompa oompadi di I've gotta nother............ Don |
Clois, does this bring back any memories?:3DSMILE:
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10349gt406.jpg Sorry if we scared the wife. She was a good sport for letting us boys and our toys indulge ourselves. I wasn't looking at the speedo during that "air out"--it's way over on the other side of the dash--but it sure was fun.:MECOOL: Hope it was part of the incentive for ya'll to come back next year--and hope it doesn't KEEP your wife from wanting to return. Bob |
Thanks Don, now I've got two tormenting me :D "Candy is Dandy, but Liquor is Quicker" :MECOOL:   Starting to have a good time......now that I have vented |
I went to Minneapolis this morning and heard a great old song by Roger Miller. Maybe that one will stick in my head now so the OOmpa Loompa will go away.
Trailers for sale or rent....rooms to let 50 cents....no food no phone no pets.....I ain't got no cigarettes.......8 hours of pushing brooms.... Maybe if we keep these old songs coming we can all clear our heads and forget about Gary.....probably not but what the hey, it's worth a try. Pray for me, I have a meeting with Gary on Monday. You guys want me to tell him anything? No swearing please! Don |
Yes,tell him to get his head out of his $$$ and send me my parts asap.
|
My Pappy said, "Son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin'
if ya don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln" |
Hey Art, I said no swearing! I guess it's hard to say Gary and not swear. I am bringing back whatever parts are available and ship them. I'm sure there will be something for you there. This makes me feel like Santa!
Lowell, That was a great song to! I just heard it the other day. We have a great oldies station in my area. Keep em coming, OOmpa LOOmpa is fading fast. Don |
Hey Santa!!!! You have my christmas list. What kind of cookies do you like with your milk? I just knew you were a miracle worker!
