Front and Rear Hoop Bumpers

I'm looking for a set (front & rear) of "Hoop" bumpers for my CR (an early/mid 90's production) . Are these bumpers all the same size for all Cobra kits (one size fits all) ? I haven't really seen many cars with these on, are there any problems associated with them?
Thanks,

Bob,

I have them on mine and I had to do some modifying to get them to fit correctly. If I remember correctly I had to cut the hoops and have a little added and then have it all polished out. I can't tell now as it doesn't show and that was to long ago for me to remember exactly. I did modify the mounting and made some brackets that are different from the factory type. I may have also just bought the wrong size hoops as it was in 1996 and I wasn't sure what to do. I am the only one around here with a 427 style body that has them. All the rest just have the bumpers or jack lifts. You might try contacting Bill Emerson at Emerson Motorsports as he does a lot of custom work and is here in Northern Calif. The way mine are done you can't even tell I modified the mounting brackets unless you lok in behind them.

Don,
Any news on stainless roll bars? Also Side louvers? Should I cut holes for roll bar without a roll bar to test fit?

I have a set of front and rear hoop type bumpers on mine. Used the OE Cobra pieces from cobraspares.com in UK. They do require some bracketry. Will send photos if you want to have a look.

By the way, I was a little reluctant at first to buy car parts from England, but it's no different than buying from Summit. This is OE British made stuff for what once was a British made car, not specialty stuff, and the prices reflect that. Pity the poor Brit trying to find OE parts for his '66 Mustang in England.

I may be a little confused by the terminology used, but the "hoop" used on 427 street cars is one size only if it is made as an oem replacement. Butler Racing used to make them for restoration. Same with the rear.

What I thnk are being called bumpers are actually called "over riders" and are chrome plated steel just as the front and rear "hoops" are.

If you want them to look right, don't use stainless and don't buy the ones that look "pointy" where they connect to the over riders.

Look in my gallery. Those are OEM replacement pieces and are correct shape and size.
