Front License Plate: CT

Don & DV:

CT recently started to selectively enforce the front license plate law, $60 ticket. One method has been during check points for seat belt compliance.

I purchased the plate holder from Finish Line that uses the bolts for the front bumpers for mounting. Plate holder holes are spaced 2 1/4, bumper bolts 3 1/2, approx on center, on the vertical.

Do either of you sell the front license plate holder that will fit the CR, or aware of a vendor's product that will fit ?

...........thanks

Don,
I don't. Not sure if Don does or not. This is probably something that should be looked into.

DV... I'll do an inspection tomorrow and see if we can't come up with something.

Try a search over at the Factory Five forum (www.ffcobra.com) ... I think somebody was marketing a plate holder there that fit in behind the front marker lights.

Yup, that's it! I don't know if it'll work on a CRL Cobra ... but the idea is simple enough if you wanted to fabricate one up at home.

I made my own. I used two 16 inch pieces of Aluminum and bent them into a L bracket. The L brackets are 10 inches on the longest side and 6 inches on the shorter. Then I used self taping scews to mount them to the bottom the the front frame. Then attached the front plate.

Simple. Inexpensive. Functional and legal.

As a cop, all cars should have front tags. As a lover of streetrods and Cobras, none of them should have to have front tags.

DV...If you had to do it, you did it right.
