Art,
I know we discussed this and I certainly pleaded guilty...numerous times! I don't know anyone that hasn't done it at least once. :( Like I said, when Don, Jay and I get done with the NEW & Improved Manual it will be much easier to tell which whay they should >point<. Hey don't feel bad yet, you've got a lot of boo-boo's infront of you! :) DV...Oh-Ya, the old "been there done that" routine! |
Art, sorry, I had a good laugh. I have done it more times than I care to admit. I looked at a trunk hinge for about an hour once trying to understand how to get the hood mounted to it. Of course this was before I became an expert!!! Now I only have to look at it for a few minutes!! Are you sure you didn't just have the right hinge on the left side. They're easy to mix up since they are both the same.

Don the damn doors are on arghhh! Don't start this left side right side stuff or I won't be able to sleep at night Har har.

You know what they say, righty tighty, lefty lucy ! Are you sure you have the hinge pins right side up, if you don't the doors will open upside down
Don |
Actually Don, if you look at them long enough and go cross-eyed, they will open in and not out!

Don,
I had three shims on each door to move it back far enough, then while sitting on my milk crate and staring into space(I do that a lot nowadays),I noticed the bolt for my steering column mounting was hitting the defroster plenum which was holding body about 3/4 " back from where it should be. Fixed that and now doors fit real good. Man I thought sanding the body was tiresome, this fitting and fixing is a real pain in the tukus. Oh and put in the "new" manual that the door latch opening should not be cut out until you're mounting the doors. I cut mine where indicated and guess what? Wrong position! Now I have to re-glass entire area and start over again.**) |
