At the top of Mt. Mitchell...6578 feet above sea level!! Highest peak east of the Rockies......BTW, it was 58* at 9:00 AM and the leaves were a bit less colorful than usual!!:confused: Below 3000 feet and down the Blue Ridge Parkway...South of Asheville, NC the colors were much better. All in all....300 miles in the Cobra on a BEAUTIFUL Fall day ain't too bad!! Didn't see another Cobra all day??:confused: Jack:MECOOL: |
I believe Harny Peak in the Black hills which by my reckoning is east of the Rockies is a tad higher.. Somewhere near 8000 feet.

I forgot to mention. I was on my dock Labor day and you drove right past me on your boat. I was fishing and yelled, but I don't think you could hear me over the engines. Anyway, maybe next time. My dock is a couple up from the old Oyster Factory site. John |
