Classic Roadster 2000 opinions
new to the whole roadster thing but looking for opinion on the following car:
CR, 302SVO,Crane roller, GT40 P heads, Holly carb, MSD ignition W/ rev limiter,T5 W/hurst shifter, Centerforce dual-friction clutch & pressure plate, 8.8 Motorsport 3.55 rearend, 12"Baer discs. built by Robert L. Spencer in Lions Bay, BC. What is it worth? any concerns? Classic Roadster opinions positive, or ??? Thanks! |
C.R. is one of the oldest manufactuers out there, lot of them on the road. The company ran into "hard times" a while back and was recently purchased by Don Scott (Minnesota?) who has been assembling C.R.'s for years. With the help of "DV" in Ohio parts, expertise and "tech support" are only a phone call away!
94" wheel base and a little wider than the originals. VERY solid body, simple easy design, I like a little "extra room". So much, in fact, I bought one! As to WHO built it and HOW good a job he did, that IS the question! Sounds like the specs are "typical" on the one your looking at. Depending on condition, "flash" (paint and chrome), over all appearance, etc. etc. somewhere in the low to mid 30's might be a good starting place. Used Cobra market is HOT if your buying right now, not a good a time to "sell". Down side to a C.R.? There's no such thing! Ernie |
I have built 2 CR's and sold them both this summer. I hope to have a new turn key Backdraft in my garage by Thanksgiving...been waiting since July. I can help with just about any question you may have about building a CR and why I decided to go with a BDR....even after I had put 500.00 down for my third CR.
