Gas Pedal for Classic roadster cobra.
All,
Where can I find a gas pedal and Brake pad for my 427 kit? I have everything hooked up, (never did find a throttle cable to match pedal assembly, had to jerry-rig my own). Anyway, now I don't know where to find a gas pedal, or a brake pad to fit the assemble? I have small brake pad with cluth pad as well. |
No problem CH. I purchased whole pedal assembly from CR few years back. I only needed clutch pedal. I have the rest of the assembly. What exactly do you need?
|
Sounds like BC has the easy solution.
Brake and clutch pedal pads look like standard auto supply store variety (Help, etc.) of standard e-brake foot pedal pad replacements. Throttle cable. Used standard Lokar street rod cable throttle with speed shop throttle cable - carb bracket. A suggestion before installing the pedal assembly would be to use better bearings on the cluch pedal cross shaft, even re-working it for ball bearings. Mine are getting sloppy already. |
Thanks for the offer.
Bcompy,
Thanks for the offer. However that is what I already have. I can't find those little rubber pads that attach to my brake and clutch levers. Also, I can't find any throttle foot feet that attaches to the rod CR supply's with the pedal assembly. I purchased this kit in late 1995, so perhaps I am working with outdated parts? |
Now that Don Scott is on=line with parts, I'd try him,or DV first.
The gas pedal looks like a typical Ford unit out of a Pinto, Mustang or Grenada. Clutch and brake pedal appear to be e-brake pedal pads. There is a rack of parts at many Auto Suppy chains called Help. There the matching e-brake pads can be found. |
I do have the brake and clutch pads available but as Jack said they are an item any parts store will have. I have been using the AC pedal from Finishline for the gas. You can drill it the same size as the pedal rod and pin it. It works good. The original pedal is from a Mustang II and is no longer available.

If you need pads, let me know, just changed the brake and clutch pedels to ac's from finish line. I still have the extra pads. I would be glad to send them to you. I don't need them. Stuart |
