Oil Cooler on CR

Has anyone added an oil cooler to there CR cobra.
I would like to add one this spring but need some help.
Did you buy Finsihlines oil cooler and housing? Did you fab a housing of your own.
Do you have any pictures?
Where did you mount the oil filter or were you able to add a adapter to the block. I am concerned about the space I have, or lack of, between the frame and my oil filter.

Thanks for any help

I bought one of Finish Line's coolers and shrouds and then just used a piece of aluminum angle stock to mount the cooler. Remote oil filter and a thermostat with a whole bunch of braided line finished everything off. (There are pictures somewhere on my website.)

However, unless you plan on racing your Cobra, I understand that the oil cooler is not necessary. You could just mock up the cooler and some lines and not connect anything to the motor.

Petek,
Well done Sir!
If you are simply "cruisin' " with your Cobra, an oil cooler is NOT necessary, and in most cases it is "argued" that it can actually create substantial more wear and tear in your engine than without. I love the looks of them, and if racing, it is as necessary as a well burnished set of race pads.

Again as Petek touched on the equipment, there are ways to install, get the look, or even get the benifits. The best way to do this is to simply spend the extra bucks on a thermostat and the extra fittings. The thermostat will simply block the oil from going through the cooler, allowing it to reach a safe and normal operating temperature that your motor requires, before sending it through the cooler. Or, you can install the cooler in the nose, run the lines from the cooler to behind the inner wheel tubs and simply not hook the lies to the engine.
